القاضي محمد مرانت (مغيب في سجن الدكتاتور أسياس)

من أوائل معتقلي الرأي والضمير في إرتريا، بل ولعله – حسب علمنا – أول من تم اعتقاله بعد التحرير مباشرة في 17/07/1991م.

القاضي محمد مرانت من مواليد قرية حطاط ، إحدى قرى بيجوك الواقعة على ضفاف وادي عنسبا [15 كلم شمال مدينة كرن]. تلقى تعليمه في المعهد الديني بكرن {المعروف بمعهد جامع} ، ثم عمل معلماً بنفس المعهد في الفترة من عام 1970 وحتى 1985 . ثم عمل بعد ذلك في القضاء الشرعي في كل من مدينة أغردات ، ثم قندع وأخيرا في كرن إلى أن جاء التحرير لتخرج إرتريا من الاحتلال الإثيوبي وتدخل نفق حكم الدكتاتور إسياس، المظلم. تم اعتقال الأستاذ محمد مرانت من قبل عصابة الدكتاتور إسياس بدون توجيه أي تهم وما زال مغيبا كغيره من المعتقلين من بعده، في معتقلات الدكتاتور ولا أحد يعرف عنه خبرا. فرج الله عنهم أجمعين.

Judge / Mohamed Meranet

One of the first Prisoners of Conscience in Eritrea. In fact, he is first to be arrested shortly after the LIBRATION in targeting the Muslim religious scholars and teachers . That is on 17 July, 1991.

Judge Mohammed Meranet was born in the village of Hitat, of the Bait-juk tribe, one of the villages situated on the banks of Anseba valley [15 km north of the city of Keren]. He studied at Keren Islamic School known as ( Ma’had Jami’), then he worked as a teacher in the same Institute during the period from 1970 to 1985. Ustaz Mrant, then, worked in the religious judiciary in different cities such as Akurdat, Qinda’ and Keren where he served up to the liberation of Eritrea from the Ethiopian occupation. Eritrea, unfortunately, entered into  an era of a dark tunnel, that is the regime of  Dictator Isaias.

 
A gang of dictator Isaias arrested Ustaz Marnt without any charges or being sent for trial. He has since then been absent, like other detainees after him and no one knows his whereabouts.
